Scholarships For Underserved Florida Students
We believe that EVERY Florida student deserves the opportunity to experience a MarineLab program and learn hands-on about our marine ecosystem. Students who are financially eligible to received free or reduced lunch face many barriers to participating in a MarineLab program, so with assistance from donors to the Art Mitchell Memorial Fund and grants from the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation and Baptist Health South Florida, we are pleased to be able to offer financial assistance for these students to attend MarineLab with their schools.
NOTE: We are aware that many schools are now providing free lunch for ALL their students and we are very much in favor of that! These scholarship funds are designed to support kids who otherwise would not be able to afford their MarineLab trip with their peers. We are fine-tuning our application process to ensure that we use our limited funds where most influential.
To request funding assistance for your eligible students simply let our MarineLab Coordinator know when you call to schedule a program. No financial commitment is necessary to schedule a program; call 305-451-1139 option 1 to find out about available dates after you’ve decided which MarineLab program you would like your students to experience.
Baptist Health South Florida has provided funding for 100 scholarships for students in Miami Dade, Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach counties for our 2 day or 3 day programs!
We are grateful to the Annette Urso Rickel Foundation for their generous support of MarineLab’s effort to reach Florida Title I students.
